"Sabbath Maker" - Refuge

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2 ESV

What does it mean to "dwell in the shelter of the Most High"? A dwelling is your home. Where you go to rest. Where you (hopefully) feel protected. Where you can be yourself and relax. Where you can just "be" with your loved ones.

Dwelling in God can be the same.

In his book "Gravitas;: The Monastic Rhythms of Healthy Leadership", Jerome Daley talks about prayer becoming "...more a state of being than an activity, more communion than communication."

Communion. Dwelling. Refuge.

Be a #SabbathMaker: Taking a few moments to make something of beauty is one way to spend time "dwelling" with God. Simply offer a short prayer at the beginning of your time creating and when you feel led, speak to God as you create. Or not! He is your loving Father who loves to see what you make! As Max Lucado says, “If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it... Face it, friend. He is crazy about you! ”

OR

You can download this PNG version and import it into its own layer in Procreate (iPad) OR ArtFlow (Android) OR any drawing app that allows layers. Then add a layer BELOW it and color on that lower layer. This will help you color inside the lines! In Procreate, I like to use the Calligraphy / Monoline Brush for a smooth coloring experience!

(This is my FAVORITE way to color!)

Don’t forget to snap a pic or a screenshot of your work and share it on Instagram with the hashtag #SabbathMaker !

Happy Sabbath Making!
